Sledding fun has begun in Leavenworth WA

Last weekend Red Roof Lodge had a last minute cancellation and we jumped on the chance to spend the weekend playing in the snow with friends.  The best part was sledding.  A short walk from the lodge is a fire road that is perfect for sledding; a 1/4 mile run to the bottom.  You can walk back up for some great excercise or talk someone into driving you back up to the top via the main road.  At night we put on our headlamps and go for a night run.  It is so much simple fun!

Let the snow fly!

A snowflake is one of God's most fragile creations, but look what they can do when they stick together!

There is lots to do when visiting Leavenworth and Red Roof Lodge. A Facebook page is a great way to organize your visit. Create a page and invite everyone that is attending your gathering.  You can manage what everyone is bringing, post interesting happenings in Leavenworth, organize outings, plan meals and share your excitement for your upcoming trip.  And after your visit you can post pictures of your trip.  Its a fun and easy way to get everyone on the same "page" about your visit to Red Roof Lodge in Leavenworth,WA!

Weddings, Weddings and more Weddings

Wow!  Recently I have had a ton of requests to  host weddings at Red Roof Lodge.  And we do.  Red Roof Lodge can accommodate up to 50 people; seated on the upper deck with the spectacular mountain views framing the couple or down poolside in the 1000 square foot pool house.
For parties larger than 50 many of my guests will use Red Roof Lodge for the Rehearsal dinner and to lodge the wedding party and have their wedding and reception at one of the many lovely venues in the Leavenworth area.
And than the married couple can take the "plunge" in the pool to seal the deal!

A November morning at Red Roof Lodge in Leavenworth WA

In a few weeks the snow will begin to accumulate and the pool will disappear under a blanket of white not to reappear until March.  It always amazes me how definitive the 4 seasons are in the Mountains.

Full Moon in Leavenworth

The pool may be too cold for swimming but it is still beautiful on a cold Autumn night as I sit by the fire pit with the Full Moon rising.

Autumn Color in Leavenworth at Red Roof Lodge

The firey colors of Autumn surround the mountains of Red Roof Lodge.  As the snow begins to fly, the tops of the mountain ridges are dusted with white, the leaves carpet the trails and the the crisp winter air invites bonfires.  Leavenworth is always delightful in fall and with promise of early snowfall it will be extra special this year.  John and I are excited to be headed over to winterize the property early next week.  We have had so many rentals in September and October this will be our first time to visit in several months.  Unfortunatley we will only be able to spend one night, but I am still excited to gaze upon  the Sumacs in their brillant red fall color and the Aspen grove turned to a golden yellow from the warmth of the spa.
